Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity (UPV) Testing of Concrete
- Designed for Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) of Concrete using Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity (UPV) measurement method.
- Applications include assessment of properties of concrete such as strength, uniformity, crack depths, etc.
- Applicable for Ultrasonic NDT of non-homogeneous materials, e.g. Rock, Timber, Ceramics, Composites, Graphite, etc.
Reference Standards :
- BS EN 12504-4:2004,
- ASTM C597- 71 (re-app. 1979),
- IS 13311(Part I); 1992.
Ultrasonic Concrete Testing Equipment
Model: CUTE 103
CUTE 103 is a Portable instrument designed with advanced features for Non-destructive Testing (NDT) of concrete quality by Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity (UPV) measurement method.
It is used to measure the transmission time of ultrasonic pulses in the test specimen, from which the velocity can be computed. A set of UPV readings can be used for further interpretations of structural concrete. The Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity (UPV) in concrete varies in relation with the Compressive Strength and hence it is widely used for in-situ estimation of concrete quality in structures. Additionally, UPV measurements are used to identify and map voids, honeycombing, cracks, delamination, and other damages in concrete.
Measurement log of max. 1000 readings can be stored in the instrument memory. Each reading is stored with ID no., Date, Time & other parameters set during the test.
The waveform of the received signal can be viewed on the display during carrying out testing on site. This feature can be useful in verifying behaviour of the Ultrasonic Signal in the concrete under test. These observations can help in estimation of compaction and uniformity of the concrete under test.
Canopus Instruments provides a Free Windows-based Software Utility for communication of PC with the instrument using USB connection.
This Utility allows the user the following options.
Download the measurement data stored in the instrument memory to the PC. This can be stored in File and can be Exported to EXCEL for report generation, trend analysis, etc.
Live View of Measurement Waveform on the PC screen for analysis. This can be stored in File and can be used with other software for further analysis in Time domain or Frequency domain.
CUTE 103 comes with our experience of over 20 years in design and manufacturing of UPV measuring instruments for concrete testing. Several new features are added over our earlier popular model CUTE102 series and it incorporates state of the art technology in the design.
